Vampyrum - Chapter 8: Mr. Gnaw

   "A Vampire?" Barb asked Tom. Barb was a large, elderly woman. She was sitting on the bed with her cat. She had long black hair and wore a faded, pink XXL t-shirt.
   "You need to calm down on the Marijuana, Tom." Said an eerily elderly man. He was known in the building as 'Mr. Gnaw.' He usually spoke very loudly. and often appears to be drunk (according to Devon, anyway). Mr. Gnaw had a bald spot that was covered by a ball cap and had a tuft of grey hair on his head. He normally wears a vest with some t-shirt under it.
   "Yea!" Tom exclaimed. "Devon is a fucking Vampire! Glowing eyes, wings, fangs, the whole nine yards!" Clearly, Tom was in a bit of a hysteria after seeing proof of actual, living Vampires.
   "Well, if he is a Vampire," Mr. Gnaw began to suggest to Tom. "Then he must be killed. We can't have that here in this building. There are children here after all."
   "Well, I know, but" Tom tried to decide what to say to at least spare the Vampire's life. however he was abruptly silenced by Mr. Gnaw.
   "But nothing, Tom! If he stays here, people are gonna die and people are gonna turn into Vampires!" Mr. Gnaw did the best he can to explain the situation to Tom (despite the inaccuracies), but Tom was still strongly against the idea. "I'm gonna have to let the whole building know about this." Mr. Gnaw stated as he got up from a recliner chair and made his way to the door.
   As he was at the door, Tiffany opened unannounced (like she normally does) and was startled to see Mr. Gnaw there.
   "Oh, hello Mr. Gnaw. Is Tom here?" Tiffany asked.
   "Yea, he is. We need to get rid of that Vampire, you know." Mr. Gnaw reminded Tifanny about Devon's new transformation. "He can't stay here."
   "But, I can't get rid of him. he's like a brother to me-" Tiffany said but was rudely interrupted by Mr. Gnaw.
   "I don't care. he's not the same guy anymore. he needs to be killed."
   "Isn't that a little strong?" Tiffany asked. "After all, he said that he can still eat food as opposed to blood-" She tried to place a white lie in to save her surrogate bat-brother.
   "That's a lie." He said as if he knew. "He's lying so that way you don't kill him."
   Tiffany attempted to lie some more. "No, it's true. I saw him drink some milk after his trip around the city. He hasn't bitten anyone-"
   "Don't listen to him!" Mr. Gnaw butted in again. This behavior was starting to annoy Tiffany as she has a problem of being unable to finish sentences because people interrupt her. Mr. Gnaw continued. "He's trying to gain your trust so he can kill you in your sleep. That's what they do, don't you know."
   "Okay, first off," Tiffany began in an irritated tone. "Don't interrupt me like that. That's very rude." She placed enough emphasis on the word 'very' to try and make a point. "Secondly,"
   "Well, you have to know the truth! If you believe his lies, he'll kill you!" Mr. Gnaw once again butted in.
   This already made Tiffany twitch an eye in frustration as she tried to keep her cool.
   "I'm gonna tell the rest of the building so they can kill the Vampire, or at least drive him out-"
   Tiffany began to but in this time. "Actually, he said that if you tell anyone, he'll gun you down first."
   This didn't faze Mr. Gnaw. "I ain't scared of no fucking Vampire!" He said as he already made his way to the door across from Tom's and pressed the doorbell for two seconds. "You can tell him that he's as good as dead!" He placed enough emphasis on his last word to make his point clear.


   Meanwhile, Devon was lying on his bed, giving Meko the best pettings the cat ever had. The cat was purring as he let the large Vampire bat pet it's cranium, cheeks and chin. Meko was obviously enjoying this.
   At the same time, Devon had one of his bottles of Mountain Dew and watched some Youtube videos. He loves to watch his favorite channel, The Game Theorists, where they cover the science and mathematical probabilities of video games. The channel was mostly in charge of Matthew Patrick (who goes by the alias of 'Matpat') as well as Gaijin Goomba (who is a flash cartoon of a Goomba from the Mario games with glasses, facial hair, japanese attire and a kick-ass pixel sword). There was also Donny who features Digressing and Sidequesting and finally, 'A Brief History' where they talk about the history of video game franchises within a time limit.
   While watching one of Matpat's many 'Five Nights at Freddy's' theories, Tiffany hurried herself through the door and locked it as quickly as she could. She quickly went to see Devon whom both him and Meko looked at Tiffany with wide eyes.
   "We have a problem!" Tiffany huffed.
